Requirements:
Movistar Ecuador was interested in a Location-based Service solution for their customers using local search information with a simple but multiplatform interface.
Solution:
Movistar Ecuador in collaboration with Location-World developed a web-based and mobile application for local searches. With this service, users can search for local information like: restaurants, fast food, ATM's, gas stations, pharmacies and more. Location World provides a powerful solution that offers geo-referencing and now we are working to add complementary modules like: weather info, social networking integration, mobile advertising and mobile coupons.
Results:
Today, the Guíame mobile application has more than 22K recurrent users per month, of which 75% are BlackBerry and Nokia users. Guíame is the most popular local search application in Ecuador and generates more than 21MM KB of monthly usage and incremental revenues for Movistar.
